CSC-New Year's Message 2023- by Dr. Lou PDF  | Print |  E-mail

New Year's Message 2023

Dear CSC Family,

As your former president and newly selected president, I first want to say thanks again, to Cody Phillips for leading CSC last year during a particularly challenging time for CSC during the 2022 Election Campaign while he was dealing with his own and his family's health problems—THANKS CODY! Next, I want to wish all of you a VERY HAPPY NEW YEAR!  I realize that "wishing" for a Happy New Year is a lot easier than actually having a Happy New Year, so let's look at some things we can do as a CSC Family to make 2023 a Happy New Year for all of us.

At the individual and family levels a good place to start would be to adopt some New Year's Resolutions that can make each of us better in how we deal with family and friends. By treating others as we would like to be treated, we can find a sense of satisfaction in doing the right thing that can lead to being happier in our own lives. A thought!

At the organizational level, what can CSC do to bring about a more Christain Conservative approach to governance in America, Alabama, our own local Counties and Municipalities? The fact is that is exactly what CSC has been doing since its inception by Col Frazier and Rete Riehm! Whether it has  been fighting Common Core at the state level or  illuminating local education failures such as low proficiency scores, using "woke" materials and fighting local  mask/vaccine mandates, killing the I-10 Bridge toll tax, saving the State Board of Education from Ivey's attempt to take away your right to vote for your SBOE member—all are part of CSC's mission to keep government true to the Constitution! That is who we are, so the real question going forward is HOW do we best approach 2023  to ensure continued success in 2023?

What do we have to do to make it more possible to achieve our solutions to the various problems we face at Local, State and National levels?

I'd like to propose that at our next Planning Cmte meeting on Monday, 16 January, 6pm at El Rancho in Dahne, we hold a Town Hall like brainstorming session for us to hear the best ideas for how to improve on how we do things and develop our agenda for the ACC meeting on 21 January that will set the stage for the forthcoming Legislative Session on 7 March.  I'll send more information on the Town Hall next week, but please make plans to attend!

God bless you and yours, our Military and First Responders, our great state of Alabama and the United States of America. May God shine his light on us and guide us in this New Year and help us keep working to keep MAGA in our hearts and minds in these troubling times.  Lou
