CSC-2022 Independence Day Message PDF  | Print |  E-mail
Dear CSC Family,
The 4th of July or Independence Day, Fireworks, BBQa, Family and Vacations occupy our
time and that is okay but have we forgotten the solemn and patriotic part of the “celebration”. Our forefathers, founders of our nation, and signers of the Declaration of Independence risked their livelihood, prosperity and their lives to establish a nation based on principles of liberty, freedom and prosperity for all. “For all men are created equal. Endowed by creator…” Somehow, we have forgotten the premise for the establishment of our great nation. I wish I could have been there to witness the discussions and struggles they had when drafting our Declaration of Independence. They were surely anxious about what they were writing and creating for they all pondered the repercussions of their actions. However, it had to be done. The tyranny had to end. Freedom and liberty from an oppressive government had to occur.
Our Declaration of Independence and our Constitution were documents that would surely bring the wrath of England upon the fledgling colonies but there was no other way to accomplish what needed to be done and that is to provide for the freedom of all citizens of a new nation. There has been no other country in history or in the world that has ever endeavored to do what our forefathers did. Was what they did perfect? No, by no means but it was a beginning and has been preserved, defended and survived for over two centuries.
Today, we are faced with grave dangers to the existence of our way of life. Our tried-and-true Constitution is under attack like at no other time in our history. It is up to us to continue the fight against despots, money-hungry politicians, self-serving elected officials and socialists who care less about the common citizens who are the government and not the governed. We must continue the fight as true Patriots just as the Patriots in our Nation have so valiantly done.
We must continue in prayer for our country. It is my belief that the grace of God founded our Nation as the light on the hill for the world for those who seek what our forefathers saw. An Army General I worked under was asked why certain countries hated us. His answer was simple, and I believe was correct. He said, “They hate us because they want to be like us.” Wow, how inciteful and true was his answer. Let us thank God for our heritage and the bounties of which He has blessed us. Let us not be in despair but be encouraged, inspired and determined in the fight to preserve our Republic. Celebrate all our blessings this Independence Day. Celebrate in remembrance of those who have stood up, defended and given their lives for our way of life. Let us never forget. May God continue blessing the United States of America and give us the wisdom, fortitude and strength to continue our fight.
May God bless each of you and your family as you stand at the forefront of our ongoing struggles. We will prevail. My love to each of you.

The Fourth of July is one of America’s biggest holidays as it includes fireworks and parades across the USA. Independence Day is celebrated in the United States of America on July 4.
The United States got its Independence on July 4, 1776. The event in 1776 eventually led to the formation of the United States of America, and the original copy of the Declaration of Independence is housed in the National Archives in Washington DC.
July 4 has been designated a national holiday to commemorate the day the United States laid down its claim to be a free and independent nation.
The history behind US Independence Day
The tradition of Independence Day celebrations goes back to the 18th century and the American Revolution when Americans broke away from being ruled by the British, who had been on the continent since the 16th Century.
At the time America was divided into 13 colonies; New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Providence, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Carolina and Georgia, with citizens paying taxes to Britain.
On July 2, 1776, during the second year of the American Revolutionary War (1775–83), representatives from 13 North American colonies of the kingdom of Great Britain, known as Colonies’ Second Continental Congress, voted to declare themselves independent from the crown, forming the United States of America.
Two days after the historic vote, on July 4, 1776, the Declaration of Independence was signed – a historic document drafted by Thomas Jefferson.
