Christmas message from CSC President, Dr. Lou | Print |

Dear Common Sense Campaign Members,

As we begin to get closer to Christmas, I think it is appropriate to turn our thoughts from the material/political worlds to the worlds of faith and spirit. It is there that we will find the answers to those questions that mankind has been asking since the dawn of man's recorded history. But what are those questions and how can faith provide us the clues we need to navigate through a world fraught with spiritual ruination? The short answer is found in a popular aphorism: "Jesus is the reason for the season." The Christmas story provides us the hope we need to overcome the sin of man; it also leads us to the path to follow to salvation through Christ's message; lastly, it challenges us to have faith as we deal with this world and all of its problems and to keep "our eyes on the prize" of salvation, not material fulfillment.

Our task is to find the balance between the spiritual world and the real world we live in that demands our attention because it is a world that harbors evil in many manifestations. It is easy however, to speak of finding a balance, more difficult in practice because we see our country being shoved over a cliff to suit the purposes of a Godless ideology that is bent on destroying this country as it was envisioned by its Founders and as we see how it should be governed. Yet, despite how hard it is to be able to devote time to both worlds, I would say that we must look to our faith to find the right answer for each of us as we balance God, family, and service to our country through our patriotic efforts to save our country. In the end, I think it is possible to reach the accommodations necessary for reaching your spiritual goals within the framework of our ministry. Yes, ministry-we are ministering to the spiritual health of our country at a critical time as we espouse those Christian values that are under severe attack by the most insidious evil forces we have ever had to face as a nation--bar none.

Our faith and beliefs give meaning to Christmas because as Christian soldiers we will go forward to battle the forces of darkness, whether in the spiritual world or the material world. Our faith gives us hope that our efforts here will be rewarded and that God's will shall be done "on earth as it is in heaven." We have to bring forth His message and work for Him through the instruments He provides: Think about who His instruments are? Look no further than all of us in Common Sense who are doing His work today. In the end, we have to continue to be His servant so that our people in this wonderful country will rally to His word thus placing all of us on His path for all times. If we accomplish that, our country will be fine. My Christmas message to all of you should be as St. Paul said to the Thessalonians: "Therefore brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which ye have been taught, whether by word or our epistle." So true and so appropriate!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Dr. Lou
